We had perfect weather for the long weekend. Little bit of heat is lingering in the air to mingle with the stream of cool breeze. The original picture was taken on a hot summer morning. I was attracted to the bright colors at first and felt overwhelmed by the complexity. So I tweaked it a little to express my enjoyment of this beautiful northwest September day.
While all other flowers are wilting and gradually surrendered to the autumn weather, this flower is still vigorous. Mature blooms seem to last forever and new blooms do not slow down their pace. I particularly love the lace-adorned crown. Such a brilliant orange color. It reminds me of the vigorous summer and also prepares me to look forward to fall.
